It is essential because it is what the world relies on. My goal is not just to practice medicine but to

Research Project: Applying Quantum machine learning for the protection of network systems

Career Goal: Obtaining a Bachelor's in Computer Science with a Cybersecurity certificate, I shall also obtain my Masters in Computer Science for research experience & a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a specialization in Cybersecurity and Quantum Computing, which would allow me to work towards and building algorithms and systems that can best utilize quantum advantage to protect data on the internet, especially network systems like the Internet or Cloud-based services, systems that rely on being wireless and safe. My goal not only lies with evolving and setting the Cybersecurity field on the course of living in a post-quantum reality, but it also lies on expanding the practical uses of Quantum algorithms and Quantum computers as the experts in the field have been making great strides in improving the capabilities of Quantum computers. My goal stands to not only prepare me in engaging with this amazing future of technology, security, and the dawn of a new technical revolution, I want to impart my knowledge and experience with other students and peers to help create a diverse, gifted, and prepared community of individuals that will be prepared to tackle the issues of the present and the future.

Career Goal: Upon graduation from NC A&T in the spring of 2025, Taylor plans to matriculate into

medical school for formal training to become a physician. Due to her longtime interest

in skin, she aspires to become a dermatologist but is intrigued by many areas of

specialties. Ultimately, her goal as a physician is to serve underrepresented

communities, aiding them in the fight for healthy living.

Research Project: Application of variational quantum algorithms to the design of two-dimensional quantum materials and the computational characterization of complex hypersonic flow conditions. Other projects include the construction of a quantum information processor with trapped ions.

Career Goal: I aim to continue my involvement in scientific research and be a factor in the technological advancement of society. Career aspirations include working as a

quantum researcher, quantum computing software developer, superconducting materials researcher, electromagnetics researcher, and data scientist. With an entrepreneurial mindset, I hope to hone my skillset and acquire the necessary knowledge to build my own technology development firm.

Career Goal: Victoria is exploring her options and deciding whether to pursue a career in laboratory research, graduate, or go to medical school. Her current goal is to work in oncology research

Career Goal: I plan to own a pediatric dental practice that provides low-cost yet quality care to disadvantaged children. Additionally, he hopes to research oral health disparities in black and brown children and partner with public health officials to alleviate these issues.

Audra Nesbit

Career Goal: Audra plans to pursue an MPH/DMD dual degree program at an accredited dental school after completing her undergraduate degree. Her ultimate career goal is to serve and empower low-income and disadvantaged communities by providing adequate oral care. She plans to use her chair-side and lab experiences to influence public health and education policy and work towards achieving health equity. Her passion for art, science, education, and childhood development fuels her aspiration to impact lives - one smile at a time.

Career Goal: I am currently a second-year undergraduate junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at the North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. I joined Dr. Samuel Research for the  NCA&T QISE Undergraduate Scholars in the fall of 2023 for the research of quantum computing and mechanics on a multi-qubit quantum computer. I am enthusiastic about expanding and diversifying my abilities in actively engaging in the QISE community.

Career Goal: A global challenge present today is the lack of care for African American patients in hospitals. This problem arises from the deficiency of African American woman doctors. Black women account for less than 3% of US doctors, yet women alone account for only 36% of doctors. This challenge is why Gabbi Shirley strives to become a pediatrician, with the long-term goal of mentoring young African American minority girls to encourage them to pursue medicine.
